Designing · UI/UX Design

Interfaces people can use without a manual, designed before they are built.

We research how your users work, structure the product around it, and design the screens, flows and components your developers can build from. The work moves from wireframes to a tested interface, so decisions are made on the page instead of in code.

Why interfaces fail

Most interface problems start before anyone opens a design tool

  • Screens designed from opinions

Layouts agreed in meetings instead of checked against how people complete the task, so the first real feedback arrives after development.

  • Structure that mirrors the org chart

Navigation and labels follow how the business is organised internally, not the words and order users expect.

  • No shared components

Every screen is drawn from scratch, so buttons, forms and spacing drift apart and developers rebuild the same thing several ways.

What is included

The full path from research to build-ready screens

01

User research and requirements

Interviews, stakeholder sessions and a review of existing analytics or support questions to establish who uses the product and what they need to get done.

02

Information architecture

Sitemaps, content grouping and navigation models, tested with simple card-sort or tree-test exercises where the scope justifies it.

03

Wireframing

Low-fidelity layouts that settle structure and priority before colour and style enter the conversation.

04

Interactive prototyping

Clickable flows for the key journeys, used for stakeholder review and usability sessions.

05

Interface and design-system work

High-fidelity screens with typography, colour, spacing and a reusable component library for desktop and mobile.

Deliverables

What you receive, and where the limits are

You receive

  • Research summary and prioritised user tasks
  • Sitemap and navigation structure
  • Wireframes for the agreed screens and states
  • Clickable prototype of the key journeys
  • High-fidelity screens for desktop and mobile
  • Component library and style guide ready for hand-off

Boundaries

  • Design only. Front-end development is a separate engagement, for example through Web Engineering.
  • Usability sessions need real users. We can plan and run them, but recruiting depends on your access to those users.
  • A prototype demonstrates behaviour. It is not production code.
  • We do not promise specific engagement or conversion outcomes from a redesign.

How it works

How a UI/UX project runs

Short feedback loops, with your team reviewing at each stage instead of at the end.

  1. Discover

Goals, users, constraints and existing material are reviewed and agreed.

  2. Structure

Information architecture and key flows are mapped and signed off.

  3. Wireframe and prototype

Layouts and a clickable prototype are built and reviewed with your team.

  4. Test and refine

The prototype is walked through with users where possible, and findings drive revisions.

  5. Design and hand off

Polished screens and the component library are prepared for development.

Questions

Common questions

Do you design for web and mobile?

Yes. The same component system is applied to desktop, tablet and phone layouts. If the product is a native app, see Mobile App Interface Design for the app-specific considerations.

Do you build what you design?

Design and development are separate scopes. Our Web Engineering and Software Development teams can build from the designs, or your own developers can use the hand-off files.

Can you redesign an existing product?

Yes. We start by reviewing what exists, including where users get stuck, and change what the evidence supports instead of redesigning everything by default.

Do you guarantee better results?

No. A clearer interface removes known obstacles, but outcomes depend on the product, traffic and offer. We agree what to review afterwards instead of promising numbers.

Planning a new interface or a redesign?

Tell us who uses it and what is not working. We will reply with how we would approach it.
