Designing · Digital Product Design

One product experience, not a collection of screens.

We design software products as systems: the structure, the workflows and the reusable components that make dozens of screens feel like one product. Discovery comes first, so the design reflects what users need to get done, and development receives a design it can actually build.

Why products drift

Screens multiply faster than the structure behind them

  • Features designed one at a time

Each request gets its own screen, so the product collects special cases instead of a coherent model.

  • Workflows nobody mapped

Users cross several screens to finish one job, and nobody has checked the whole path end to end.

  • Design and development out of step

Designs arrive finished but do not match what can be built in the time, so they are rebuilt informally in code.

What is included

Design for the product as a whole

01

Product discovery

Goals, user needs, constraints and the existing system reviewed, so the direction is explicit before screens are drawn.

02

Product structure

Information architecture and navigation for the whole product, including roles and permissions.

03

Workflow and interaction design

End-to-end flows for key jobs, with states, validation and edge cases.

04

Prototyping

Clickable prototypes for the flows that carry the most risk, used to validate before build.

05

Components and developer collaboration

A reusable component library, and design reviews with developers throughout the build.

Deliverables

What you receive, and where design ends

You receive

  • Product goals and user task map
  • Information architecture and role model
  • Workflow diagrams for key jobs
  • High-fidelity screens for the agreed scope
  • Component library and interaction notes
  • Prototype and developer-ready specifications

Boundaries

  • Design leads to specification. Software Development builds the product.
  • Ongoing product management is not included unless agreed separately.
  • Research quality depends on access to real users.
  • Prototypes are for validation, not production use.

How it works

From discovery to a design developers can build

Structure is settled before screens, and development is involved before the design is finished.

  1. Discover

Users, jobs to be done, constraints and the current system are reviewed and written down.

  2. Define the structure

Navigation, roles and the product model are agreed before detailed screens.

  3. Design the workflows

Key jobs are designed end to end, including error and empty states.

  4. Prototype and validate

Risky flows are prototyped and reviewed with users or stakeholders.

  5. Work with development

Specifications and component notes are handed over and reviewed during build.

Questions

Common questions

Is this the same as UI/UX design?

They overlap. UI/UX Design covers interface design broadly. Digital Product Design is for software products with many screens, roles and workflows that need one structure and one component set.

Can you work with our developers?

Yes. We review designs with them during the build and adjust where real constraints appear.

Do you do product strategy?

We clarify user needs and scope for the design. Business-level direction sits with Business Growth Consulting.

Can you design an internal tool?

Yes. Internal tools benefit from consistent structure and workflows just as customer-facing products do.

Tell us what it does and who uses it. We will reply with how we would structure the design.
