Cloud & DevOps · Cloud Infrastructure
Cloud infrastructure designed for how your application runs.
We design and set up the cloud foundation for a new or existing application: compute, storage, networking, security, monitoring and backups, built as repeatable infrastructure. It is for new environments. Moving an existing system is Cloud Migration & Modernization.
What goes wrong
Infrastructure that grew by accident
Manual, undocumented set-up
Nobody can rebuild the environment if something fails.
Everything on one server
A single failure or traffic spike takes the whole application offline.
Open access and no monitoring
Broad permissions and no alerts mean problems are found by customers.
What is included
A cloud foundation, defined and documented
Architecture design
Layers and services chosen to match requirements and budget.
Environment setup
Separate development, staging and production where appropriate.
Security and access
Role-based access, secrets handling and network rules.
Monitoring and backups
Metrics, alerts, backups and a tested restore.
Infrastructure as code
Repeatable definitions so environments can be rebuilt.
Deliverables
What you receive, and the limits
You receive
- Architecture diagram and decisions
- Provisioned environments
- Access and security configuration
- Monitoring and alerting
- Backup and restore procedure
- Runbook and cost notes
Boundaries
- Cloud provider charges are billed to you.
- For migrating an existing system, see Cloud Migration & Modernization.
- No uptime guarantee beyond what the provider and design allow.
- Compliance certification is outside this scope.
How it works
From requirements to a documented environment
Everything is documented so the environment can be rebuilt.
Gather requirements
Application, traffic, data and risk.
Design
Architecture and cost approach agreed.
Provision
Environments and security built.
Verify
Monitoring, backups and restore tested.
Hand over
Runbook and walkthrough.
Questions
Common questions
Which cloud provider?
We recommend based on your needs and your team’s skills. We do not push one.
How does this differ from Hosting & Infrastructure Setup?
Cloud Infrastructure is a designed multi-layer environment. Hosting setup is simpler: domain, runtime, SSL and backups.
Can it scale?
The design can allow scaling where the application supports it. See Performance & Scalability Engineering.
Who owns the accounts?
You do. We work in your accounts so you keep control.
Need a cloud foundation you can trust?
Describe the application. We will reply with how we would structure the environment.
